Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point has a long and illustrious history of providing the highest level of critical medical care for our community. Founded in 1981, it was the first hospital to be built in North West Pasco County serving residents in Pasco, Hernando & Citrus Counties. Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point is a 290 bed acute care facility. Our reputation for providing compassionate and innovative care to those in need is built on the foundation of excellence in patient care. Our quality programs have continually been recognized for excellence by US News and World Report, Thomson Reuters, UnitedHealth and the American Heart Association, to name a few.
Our medical staff is the finest in the state. Many of our physicians enjoy national reputations as being among the most experienced practitioners in their fields. Our nursing staff is also superbly trained and attentive. Our entire team of professionals takes great pride in the quality of the care we provide and in the integrity of our institution.
Now, our counties and surrounding areas are in need of a trauma program to ensure that critically injured patients have access to treatment within the “golden hour” – that is the period of time immediately after a serious injury during which there is highest probability that prompt medical treatment could prevent death. For the citizens of these counties, It is All About Time: that is, reducing the time it takes to gain access to expert trauma care within their own community. The development of a Level II Trauma program is a natural progressive step in the evolution of Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point and a very proud milestone that the entire organization is committed to achieve in 2011.
