Hudson, Florida – Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point announces the appointment of David H. Villarreal, MD, FACS (Fellow of the American College of Surgeons) as Trauma Medical Director. Dr. Villarreal joined RMCBP from East Texas Medical Center in Tyler, Texas, a Level I Trauma Center, where he had the position of Director of the Trauma Intensive Care Unit.
Dr. Villarreal has held the position of Trauma Surgeon at RMCBP since July 2011 and patients have benefited greatly from his wealth of experience in trauma and critical care surgery. Dr. Villarreal’s main concentration has been in the management of the critically ill trauma patient and in the areas of abdominal and thoracic trauma surgery and complex chest and abdominal wall reconstructions.
He is an instructor of the Advanced Trauma Life Support course. Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point is one of five HCA hospitals affiliated with the USF-HCA Trauma Network. As part of that affiliation, Dr. Villarreal also holds the position of Clinical Professor of Surgery with the University of South Florida College of Medicine.
