Hudson, FL (February 10, 2009) - On Friday, January 30, 2009 the Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point Volunteer Association announced winners of their 5 Star and 1 Star Volunteers of the Quarter Awards. Employees, fellow volunteers and visitors nominate individuals for the awards.
Volunteer winners of the quarterly awards included 5 Star Award Winners:
Ernie Graf, who started volunteering for Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point in May 2005, and has total of 3,155 hours. Ernie volunteers as both a Courier and a Courtesy Cart Driver. He often volunteers up to five days a week. Ernie so is always there to help and willingly does whatever it takes to help the visitors, staff, volunteers and patients and he does it with a smile. He is a credit to Regional Medical Center and the Volunteer Association and very deserving of the 5 Star Award.
William Bill McKeon started volunteering in June 2006 and has 1,137 volunteer hours. Bill is one of those special people who always has a smile, a kind word and is willing to help in any way he can. He works well with everyone from teenagers to his peers. He is a wonderful mentor to the teens on his shift. As one volunteer put it Bill is just a good guy. He is a credit to Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point and the Volunteer Association and very deserving of the 5 Star Award.
Irving Rubenfield has been volunteering a total of 9 years and has over 3,460 volunteer hours. Irv volunteers in Materials and helps to bring packages to every department in the hospital. He volunteers 3 days a week and is very well liked by the people in his department and throughout the hospital. Irv is willing to do whatever is asked of him. When Irv was told that he won this award he couldnt understand why because as he put it Im just doing my job. Irv is a credit to Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point and to the Volunteer Association and is very deserving of the 5 Star Award.
Roy Hansen has been volunteering since June 1995 and has volunteered 2,330 hours. He Volunteers as a Mail Courier. He is a dedicated and steady volunteer. He is respected by his fellow volunteers and a good example of what makes the Mail Courier team function so well as a unit. His suggestions, due to his US Postal Service background, have benefitted the team which in turn benefitted the many departments in the hospital. Roy is a dedicated and hard working volunteer and very deserving of the Star Appreciation Award.
