Hudson, FL (May 15, 2009) - On Thursday, April 30 the Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point Volunteer organization announced winners of their 5 Star Volunteers of the Quarter Awards and 1 Star Volunteer of the Quarter Awards. Employees, fellow volunteers and visitors nominate individuals for the awards. Volunteer winners of the quarterly awards included:
David Bertotti David began volunteering in March 2006. He has 2,032 volunteer hours. David volunteers as a Courtesy Cart Driver and he is the Courtesy Cart Maintenance Chairperson. Dave does much of his volunteering behind the scenes. He works with Plant Operations to make certain that courtesy carts are always available to serve the needs of our patients, visitors, staff and fellow volunteers. His efforts have greatly improved the performance of all the carts. Being very safety conscious, each week on his own time, he comes in to clean the windshields of the carts and makes certain the carts batteries are properly charged.
Eileen Eisner Eileen started volunteering in January 2000 and has 1,815 volunteer hours. Eileen volunteers in Welcome Center D two mornings a week. She always has a friendly smile and greets the patients with courtesy and respect. She will do anything to make sure the patient is comfortable, such as providing the patient with that means getting a warm blanket to put around their shoulders. Eileen represents the best qualities in a volunteer and she truly is a 5 Start Volunteer.
Lois Hosie - Lois started volunteering in March 1989 and she has 5,283 hours. Lois started out in Utilization and then went to Administration and now volunteers in Welcome Center D. Over the years she has been an asset to every department where she has volunteered her time and skills. She is always pleasant and polite to the patients, visitors and staff. Her 20 years of faithful service and caring ways is why she is being presented with the 5 Star Award.
1 Star Award Winners
James Potter - James started volunteering in April 2003. Jim has 2,311 hours and volunteers as a Chaplains Aide. He greets the patients with respect and understanding. He listens to their problems with care and understanding. He is very friendly and upbeat with the patients, visitors, staff and other volunteers. He faithfully works his shift and fills in on days when asked to help. Jim certainly deserves the 1 Star Appreciation Award.
