Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point Offers Free Prostate Screenings in Prostate Cancer Awareness Month

Hudson, FL (August 17, 2009) - Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point will be offering a free prostate screening on September 24, from 5:00-6:45p.m. Screenings consist of a PSA (prostate specific antigen) and DRE (digital rectal exam) performed by board certified physicians. Prostate Cancer is one of the most common cancers among men. Regular prostate check-ups are recommended for men beginning at age 50. Yearly check-ups are recommended for men 40 and older who have either a family history of prostate cancer or for African-American men who are more likely to develop prostate cancer.
