  • Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point Announces Its Volunteer 5 Star Award Winners for the Fourth Quarter of 2011

Hudson, FL – Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point has announced the recipients of its fourth quarter Volunteer Five Star and One Star Awards. The recipients for the Five Star Award are Lucy Brunetti, Jan Link and Ray Tosatti.

Lucy Brunetti started volunteering in August 2002 and she has 14,075 hours.  Lucy is the Chairperson of the Floor Services Volunteers. She delivers water to the patients every Wednesday and Friday. As Chairperson she trains all new volunteers in the Floor Services area. Lucy is helpful to everyone and greets everyone with a friendly smile. Lucy loves to bake and helps with the bake sales the volunteers have to raise money for the Heart Walk and the Relay for Life. She loves to bring a cart around full of baked goodies to the floors so the nurses and visitors can participate. Lucy is an asset to the Volunteer Association, and the patients and truly deserves the 5 Star Volunteer Award.

Jan Link started volunteering in October 2001 and has 4,158 hours. Jan is Chairperson of Arts & Crafts and coordinates the group of volunteers who make the little gifts that are placed on the patient meal trays to brighten their holidays. They make them for Valentine’s Day, Easter, July 4th, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. When the Chairperson of their group became ill Jan was willing to step up and take on the responsibilities of the chairperson. She responds very well to patients, guests, staff and other volunteers. She is an asset to the Volunteer Association and the hospital. Jan truly deserves the 5 Star Volunteer Award.

Ray Tosatti started volunteering in February 2003, and has 2,617 hours. Ray volunteers in the ER Unit. He assists patients when they are being admitted by giving them extra blankets to make them more comfortable. He also stays with the patients and talks with them to ease their concerns and he escorts the visitors to the patient’s room. Ray also assists the nursing staff by running errands as needed. Everything Ray does is out of concern for the patient. Ray is an outstanding example of what a volunteer is and is an asset to the hospital and the Volunteer Organization. Ray is truly deserving of the 5 Star Volunteer Award.
