Hudson, FL – Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point has announced that it has awarded its annual volunteer of the year recognition to two volunteers. Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point’s volunteers of the year are Lucy Brunette and Ernie Graf.
Lucy Brunette has been volunteering since August 2002 and has already served 14,640 hours of service. Ms. Brunette is Chairperson of the Floor Services Department. She has faithfully delivered water, ice and friendly conversation to patients for 10 years. She has also trained numerous other volunteers and cares deeply about each and every one of them. Ms. Brunette has a reputation for helping anyone and everyone and she does it with a friendly smile. She also has a reputation as an outstanding baker and helps with the volunteer bake sales that raise funds for the American Heart Association and the American Cancer Society.
Ernie Graf has been volunteering at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point since May 2005 and has already served 8,041 hours of service. Mr. Graf wears many volunteer hats at RMCBP. He is a Team Leader for a group of volunteer couriers on Saturday mornings, and he is a mail courier as well as a courtesy cart driver. Mr. Graf has a reputation for being one of those volunteers who never hesitates to become involved when one requires assistance. Other volunteers say that he is the first to show up and one of the last to leave. One of his co-volunteers put it best “Give Ernie an assignment and consider it done.”
The annual Volunteer of the Year awards were given at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point’s 30th annual volunteer banquet and appreciation luncheon.
