Cardiac Surgery

The Heart Institute's surgical program includes four specially designed and equipped operating suites, a twenty bed Cardiac Surgical Unit and a twelve bed Cardiac Surgical Step-down Unit. Since 1989, we have performed over 11,850 open-heart procedures, including TMR, the MAZE surgery, mini valve surgery, off pump (beating heart) bypass surgery, etc. More than 350 open heart procedures were performed last year alone.
