Graduate Medical Education

We are pleased that you are considering the graduate medical education program at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point. Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point is committed to establishing and maintaining high quality Graduate Medical Education training programs. Our institution strives to provide residents with the education and training needed to develop personal, clinical, and professional competence under the guidance and supervision of the faculty and staff. With the recent accreditation of our Osteopathic Internal Medicine Program, we plan to continue the momentum through the application of additional medical education programs.

Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point is located in Hudson, Florida, 30 miles north of Tampa, and just three miles off the Gulf of Mexico. Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point has 290 licensed beds including 70 critical care beds. Our Level II Trauma Center is the only trauma center in Pasco, Hernando, and Citrus Counties providing an excellent learning environment for residents.

Graduate Medical Education Program Commencement Ceremony

Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point is proud to announce that it held its first commencement ceremony for its Graduate Medical Education Program (GME) in Internal Medicine on June 22, 2016, at 5:30pm.

The Internal Medicine Program at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point is the first Graduate Medical Education Program in Pasco County, making Dr. Groff Pasco County's first resident graduate. Dr. Groff was recognized for her achievement in front of honored guests, faculty physicians, GME staff, classmates, and family members.

The commencement program was delivered by Shayne George, CEO, Joseph Pino, MD, Chief Medical Officer, and Michael Strobe, DO, Program Director.

Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point welcomes the incoming class of residents. The incoming class of resident physicians hale from medical schools from all over the United States, including medical schools right here in Florida.

Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine Annual Residency Fair

We recently participated in the Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine Annual Residency Fair in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida in the Don Taft University Center on the NSU Davie/Fort Lauderdale Campus.

Program Director, Dr. Michael Strobbe, Administrative Director, Nina Beedle and Internal Medicine residents, Woody Taves, Rebecca Burt and Hamish Patel from Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point recently traveled to Ft. Lauderdale to attend the Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine Annual Residency Fair. Approximately 500 third and fourth year medical students were on campus for the resident fair to hear about medical education opportunities and make connections with our hospital.

Greatest Appreciation Presented to Graduate Medical Education Residents

On August 31st of this year, about 6:15pm, we had to rely on not just our own staff, but the great support of you and your organizations and your quick response, assets, preparation, and training, in order to fulfill our hospital mission that day.
