Tampa Bay, Florida — The Heart Institute at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point announces that it will offer a community lecture on TAVR, a revolutionary alternative to open heart valve surgery for severe aortic valve stenosis. The presentation will be conducted on February 27, 2018, at The Plantation on Crystal River/Magnolia Ballroom, 9301 West Fort Island Trail, Crystal River, Florida 34429. Registration and a complimentary dinner will be at 5 pm. The presentation will be conducted by Rami Akel, MD, who is board certified in cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology.

Dr. Akel is a graduate of the University of Jordan School of Medicine. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Indiana University and his fellowship in cardiology and interventional cardiology at Methodist DeBakey Vascular Institute and the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston.
